Sexy Perfume - What scents do it for your senses and why?
We all like to feel good about ourselves - Most of us, consciously or unconsciously take all manner of everyday steps to make this so.Who we choose to hang with, what we choose to wear, the way we style our hair, the actions we take to satisfy a need, a favourite food, a sexual stimulus, an affirmation of one form or another, courting compliments, perhaps getting a remark that we look or smell good, the knowledge of our financial security… and so on and so forth. The point being that they all contribute in one way or another to our state of inner contentment.
If you want my body and you think I’m sexy…
It’ll be of no surprise to readers of this piece that I’d like to focus on the ’smell good’ aspect of what I just said. If I may, I’d like to ask how you choose what perfume or aftershave you use? Are you inspired by TV adverts or movie trailers? Do you like the idea that you are wearing the same stuff that the beautiful or handsome model in the poster or sexy sensual ad wore, do you want to be like them, sexy desirable, wanted, is that the trigger for you?
Memories…like the corners of my mind
Or is it a case of you having received a perfume gift from a lover and then liking the associations that wearing it brings? Does the aroma, whilst intrinsically pleasant, have a further reaching, emotional pull that touches you elsewhere?
Don’t you, forget about me…
Conversely, do you have old perfumes you no longer wear for the associations they remind you off? Does the ending of a relationship propel you to choose anew, simply to escape from a memory of old?
A kiss is still a kiss, a smile is still a smile…
Or perhaps I’m looking too intently, perhaps its not as complicated and beneath the surface as any of that. Perhaps its a simple choice of point and sniff in some shop, or the look of a bottle or a price tag even.
